Hi! I will explain why my method of teaching a new language is very, very effective. First, I have learnt from very experienced teachers. However, I have also added my personal touch, something I have not seen other teachers do.
First, Dr. Stephen Krashen taught us to teach language using ‘comprehensible language inputs’. I will always help you learn your new language at the difficulty that is ideally suited to you.
Second, Dr. Jeff McQuillan taught us to teach by ‘acquiring’, not by ‘learning’ a new language. Simply put, I will help you learn the new language in a context focused on your ability to understand the language’s meaning instead of the language’s form. In other words, we will not focus on flashcards and grammar rules used in the conversation but on your understanding of the meaning of the conversation. (You will naturally ask for explanations of the grammar, and you will get answers, but all this at your initiative and your pace)
Third, I agree with Dr Diane Neubauer that learning to read should follow the acquisition of sounds in the new language, not vice versa. In other words, I will teach you how to read and write in the new language by first learning how the language sounds. We will break down the sounds into recognisable, understandable, and repeatable chunks (like the Pimsleur method does). For that, I apply shadowing and mirroring techniques as early as possible in the learning process, as Dr Tracy Derwing advocates.
Fourth, I also utilise Dr Steve Kaufmann’s story-based language learning content. I will produce short stories that match your interests, the stories you will enjoy reading in any language. In other words, you will acquire a new language by reading what you like to read and talk about.
Fifth, Dr Beniko Mason has proved that language acquisition is most effective in listening to and reading visualised short stories. As your teacher, I will guide you through your self-selected reading (GSSR). Dr Mason is brilliant at visualising the stories for you while retelling them.
However, I go a step further. In addition to all the above, I utilise my experience of learning Norwegian Sign Language. My sign language experience has taught me to help you acquire spoken language using fine motor skills. When you use your hands, your facial muscles, and gestures to express the meaning of what you are listening to, you learn with your whole body and soul. You learn best when you use all your senses. And that is what we will do. Combining all these methods into my Signed Story Language Learning (SSLL) method, you will be as re-born in the new language and absorb the new language as every baby does, listening, watching and signing in the new language. But you will also fully mature in that language with my guidance. Are you ready for the challenge?

PS: Oh, you wonder if we are going to use AI? Of course, we will. I will use some AI while preparing for the lessons, and you will use some AI while doing your homework. But, yes, you are right; no AI can adjust the language level to your specific needs, as I will guide you step by step. And no, AI cannot accelerate your learning with gestures and signs, as you and I will do together.
